A note from Freeman 12/19/2024:
Potential Port Strike Statement
(December 2024)
As you may know, United States
dockworkers represented by the International Longshoremen's Association (ILA)
went on strike in early October, halting operations at various ports. Although
a tentative labor agreement was reached between the ILA and the United States
Maritime Alliance (USMX), the current contract is only extended until January
15, 2025.
While negotiations did resume on
November 15, 2024, they have broken off at this time potentially leading to a
renewed strike early next year.
If a strike occurs in January,
depending on its duration and ports impacted, it could put strain on
event-related shipping and transportation. Given this uncertainty, we strongly
recommend that exhibitors plan to ship exhibits and products earlier to minimize
potential delays. Freeman will accept shipments at our advance warehouse up
to 60 days before events for international shipments. There will be no
additional charge for the early acceptance of shipments.
Freeman’s domestic and
international shipping team is here to assist you with your shipping
requirements. We understand the importance of your shipment and are making
efforts to support timely delivery of your materials for the event, even with
potential disruptions in January.
Freeman will continue to monitor
the situation closely and remains hopeful for a positive resolution.
