Should the spots fill up, you will be placed on a waiting list.

By registering for a free workshop at The Western, you agreed to be charged for late cancelation (including no-shows). Your card will only be charged if you do not attend the workshop for which you registered in its entirety. If you no longer wish to attend the workshop(s) for which you registered, you may cancel your registration by June 1 without charge.

How to avoid a charge of $50 per workshop:
1. Attend the workshop from start to finish (don't forget to sign in to verify attendance!)
2. Cancel in writing to dkenoly@calpma.org by June 1.

THURSDAY, JUNE 22

INNOVATIONS IN BIOMECHANICS: GAIT ANALYSIS, DIGITAL ORTHOTIC CASTING AND PRESCRIBING

Attendees will receive direct training on understanding gait analysis and parlaying that into modern orthotic casting techniques.

This course is geared for every podiatrist who wants to perfect their orthotic prescription skill set. 

The attendees with become educated via didactic and hands-on experience in understanding: 
Gait analysis and physical factors effecting the mechanics of the lower extremities during closed chain kinetic gait.
How to translate findings of the gait analysis into prescribing recommendations to correct pathomechanical issues of the foot, ankle and leg.
Updated digital casting techniques for foot orthotic and ankle foot orthotics. 

FRIDAY, JUNE 23

INNOVATIONS IN MINIMAL INCISION BUNIONECTOMY (CADAVER)

3 CECH
Limited to 24 Learners

Attendees will receive hands-on training of MIS techniques to be applied to forefoot pathology. 

This course is designed for the surgeon wanting to expand their knowledge to this emerging technology. 

The attendees with become educated via didactic and hands-on experience in understanding: 
Patient selection for MIS bunionectomies
Surgical technique for MIS bunionectomies
Possible complications and how to address them for MIS bunionectomies

1:30 – 4:30 PM
INNOVATIONS IN EXTERNAL FIXATION (SAW BONES)

CPMA has designated an unrestricted educational grant from Paragon 28 to support this program.
3 CECH
Limited to 24 Learners

Attendees will receive hands-on training on the basics and nuances of becoming a proficient ex fix surgeon. 

This course is geared for those who want to develop or hone their skill set on this expanding technology.

The attendees with become educated via didactic and hands-on experience in understanding: 
Pathological conditions that can be addressed with external fixation
Patient selection criteria for external fixation
Basics of application of ring and pin to bar external fixation
How to address complications with external fixation

INNOVATIONS IN ORTHOPLASTICS (CADAVER)

CPMA has designated an unrestricted educational grant from Trice Medical Concepts to support this program.
3 CECH
Limited to 24 Learners

Attendees will receive hands-on training of flap preparation, flap dissection, and appropriate applications of orthoplastic techniques. 

This course is geared for the limb salvage surgeon. Due to its popularity last year, we have expanded the level of training for this year's workshop.

The attendees with become educated via didactic and hands-on experience in understanding: 
Patient selection criteria for Orthoplastics procedures and corresponding pathology
How to appropriately prepare surgical sites for orthoplastic procedures

FLUOROSCOPY PATIENT/PROVIDER SAFETY AND SURGICAL TECHNIQUE PEARLS*+

4 CECH (4 Radiology CECH, including 4 Fluoroscopy CECH)


This workshop will be added to each DPM registration when registering for General Sessions. Free access to this course will be provided to all DPM attendees if completed by August 1. Find the link in the meeting app.

This fluoroscopy course provides the necessary continuing education credit hours for your California Supervisor and Operator Protection and Safety license. It provides important information regarding protocols to minimize patient and provider exposure to radiation, documentation requirements for hospitals and surgical centers and fluoroscopy principles and uses.
